Gazpacho? Avocado pureed with pears it quite tasty, my DD loved it as a little bub. Hommus too if he likes it. Otherwise, yoghurts and custards with fruit purees, maybe chia pudding? Poor little guy, hope it's better soon!

    Ohh poor little guy!
As someone who currently has stitches in their mouth, I can totally relate. I've been eating icecream and sorbet mostly. I'm currently eating greek yoghurt with a fruit puree I made from a tin of mango cheeks. There's not a huge range of things to eat, and I am busting for some 'real' food. Cold soup is a good idea from a PP, I would strain it though, and similarly I would avoid/strain anything with 'bits' in it, eg chia, strawberry/raspberry seeds etc... you wouldn't want anything getting stuck in the wound before it heals over.
48 hours will go quickly though, and he may not even feel like eating much. I've been able to move onto 'warm' foods from yesterday, not 'hot', (as I sit here sipping my lukewarm cup of tea), so have been eating instant mashed potato and scrambled eggs as well as my cold foods.

    Good luck.
