Default Can stress bring on labour

I know it sounds like a dumb question. But can stress sometimes cause preterm labour? Im not talking just a couple if rough days, im talking weeks (months even) of medium to high stress and anxiety.

When I was pregnant with my first I found out my dad was sick and then terminal. When I asked my ob about the stress and anxiety on the baby she answered they are tougher then we give them credit. He was born perfectly heathy.

No not really. But my beautiful midwife has put me in touch with a social worker to help with it all. Just been 6 months of pure hell, the only positive being the little person growing inside me (which is now also causing me to stress combined with other stuff).

I know stress can bring on high blood pressure during pregnancy and then in my case an early delivery due to BP being out of control.

I was faced with the most stressful situation I've ever been under when I was 30 weeks and bub and I were both fine. I was also worried about going into labour early because of it

I think so, with my last bub I went into preterm labour and I hadn't with my previous pregnancies.
I attribute the early labour to having a toddler to look after and no real help, buying a house and moving, and having my parents move in... there's no medical proof just my opinion.

I agree with this. I was put under severe stress due to an issue at work completely out of my control. I am a very organised person and this issue was incredibly overwhelming for me. I literally stayed awake and lost sleep at night. After many discussions and a new manager the issue was resolved and no longer a problem. A week later I went into preterm labour with no other explanation. My baby was 6 weeks early.
