    Default Early labor swab test.....

    Has anyone had the swab and have it come back negative and still go into labor, I am interested to hear any stories on this?
    I understand what the test looks for but can it pick up if waters are going to break too?

    I don't think it's an early labour swab test. Isn't it a strep b test? I don't think anything can predict early labour!

    No there is now a swab test they do that can tell you if you will go into labor in the next 7 days, I had it in my last pregnancy 4 years ago and this one.
    I will find the link for you.

    Ha! I've never heard of this and thought I'd heard of most things baby/labour now! I wonder how accurate it is?

    From memory - very accurate if positive, but false negatives are frequent.

    I had that test done when i had a car accident at 30wks preg.
    It was negative though i was still treated with steroid injections, bed rest and the drugs to hold off labour for the following week when a follow up test swab was done with the same negative result.
