Monnie, please talk to them again and say you are confused. Ask them to step you through what they have recommended to you, why you have to wait for so long before they know what is wrong with him.
I know Flinders are fantastic but the Women's and Children's are meant to be the best, can you get a transfer if you aren't happy with what the doctors are saying (or not saying)?

I am so sorry to read this.
Is it possible to have all the test results sent to the Childrens in Melbourne and Sydney for second and third opinions? Or even ask for a transfer to one of them.
Ask all the questions you need to, don't let them walk away until you know everything you need to.

I agree with Allie's advice asking then to step by step talk you through what's happening.
Also, please ask the hospital if they have what's called a 'patient representative' they will be of invaluable help to you as you try to make sense of the situation and communication between your family and staff.
Take care Monnie xxx

I worked as a junior doctor at Flinders NICU, and Simon apart (great brain just sleazy!!), I found it to be amazing. It is not one doctor, but at least 5-6 doctors, who discuss bub's case. They throw potential diagnosis around, in keeping with new pathology results. You could ask for a second opinion, but be prepared to answer "why"? Say just for peace of mind. Ask them to write things down for you.

Oh Monnie, what a tough time you are having. I'm hoping that the drs have given you the worst case scenario & that little bub will fight on & prove the MRI wrong. Love & strength again xx

Just letting you know Monnie that whatever happens and whatever you decide in the future you have been the most amazing mother to Hugo.
Fight if you want to fight for Hugo, but please don't feel bad for prolonging any suffering either.
Remember you have another that needs her mummy too as well xxxx
