Oh my! How scary. I will be thinking of you all. Hopefully they have put him in the coma to give his little body and lungs a rest while they let the machines breathe for him. They know what they are doing and probably don't want him to waste energy fighting against the machines.
Dd2 was on cpap/ventilator and all sorts of machines when she was born. I understand how scary it is to see them in that state. Hugs xoxo

I couldn't read and not respond.
It is a really hard time watching your child fight for their life. No one can imagine the pain you are experiencing unless they've been there for themselves. It's every parents worst nightmare.
My youngest was born at 25weeks and spent the first 3.5months in hospital fighting for life, from there was home for around 2 weeks before falling ill with meningitis. Another time a few weeks later RSV, which in a chronic lung disease patient it presented like whooping cough.
The hardest thing was leaving the hospital every night when I didn't have a sitter for the older kids at home.
The only thing that got me through was reminding myself bub was in the best place possible and there wasn't anything else I could while I was there except making myself feel better.
Your 11mo needs your attention and help at this point so easier said then done but try to remember when you leave the hospital he's where he needs to be as are you.
It doesn't help but it kinda helps make things a little easier xo
