The pill?! What pill are we talking about exactly? (I'm so clueless about this stuff!) The only pill I think of is the contraceptive pill and I think that's totally against what I'm aiming for lol

I'd just wait and see what she saids. If she puts you on a Down Regulation cycle she may put you on the pill to regulate your cycle. She tried many different protocols with me and Down Regs worked best but I never took the pill because of my age and time was running out for me. (We first saw her at 39 and i finally got a viable pregnancy at 42). She may test you first to make sure everything is functioning properly, check your husbands sperm is good then put you on a fertility drug and want you to try for 6 months naturally before trying ivf. That's what we did but had no luck and then went straight to ivf. Anyway let us know how you get along. Keep doing the deed when you ovulate because you never know, it might just happen. By the way, she always told us to have sex every second day for 2 weeks. Start 2 days before you ovulate then every 2 days. So I would basically ovulate usually on day 11 or 12, hubby and I would do the deed day 8,10,12,14,16. If you do it everyday it doesn't give him enough time to refuel so to speak. Also the sperm survives for at least 2 days inside of you. Hope this helps.

Completely agree with @Team panda. Id be very surprised if Lynn didn't do a laparoscopy and check your tubes etc.
Look forward to hearing how you go!

Thank you so much ladies! You've both been wonderful. I actually took up the 15 minute nurse chat option that Monash IVF offers and Jo was fantastic! She spent 25 minutes on the phone with me in the end. She also suggested to DTD every second day from around day 8 to day 20 based on my shortest (25) and longest (32) cycles. I'm determined to give it a good shot to happen naturally between now and May in the hope that we just might get lucky and if not, at least I'll be ready to take the next step. Jo suggested that I get a referral with both my name and DHs name on it also specifying that it was to see Lynn. She also suggested checking immunity to chicken pox and rubella prior to that first appointment because they won't proceed without confirmation via blood test and if you do need the vaccination you must wait 3 months until trying to fall pregnant. One thing I can't get my head around us that before going down the IVF route you need to get a police check and a working with children check (not that it will be a problem for either of us)! I just think that's ridiculous because people who conceive naturally don't go through anything of the kind! Unbelievable! Ah well, that's life for you!

Iwantone - I totally agree with you regarding the police checks. Especially because my husband and I were already in professions where we have to have them done in order to work. One of the nurses told me it had something to do with Medicare. I'd love to know exactly why we need them.

Team Panda- it's so frustrating isn't it?! I guess it's just one of those hoops we have to jump through (like there aren't enough in life as it is!)

Riss78- thanks for the tip- I've just joined the 'Lynn Burmeister- feedback wanted' thread

Lemon Pancakes- Ahh that is soooo exciting! Reading these kinds of stories makes me so happy and determined to be in your shoes
