I had all four out under general. As soon as I woke up the nurse gave me an ice block to help any bleeding to clot off and I put ice packs on when I got home. Pain was barely there. I think I took a couple of panadeine forte and after they wore off I was fine. I made sure I ate cold foods for the first day or so and gargled salt water. After that I moved on to mashed potato. By the same time next week I was eating normally. You can also buy lozenges for sore throats from the chemist which have an anesthetic effect which may help.
