Yeah I all removed.of the cushioning and fabric straps off DD's highchair as well. I should have bought a nice plastic, easy wipe one

Yep my kids did that at that age. I used to put a towel on the verandah for them to have a "picnic" and then just shake it over the side when they were finished. In fact at 1 and 2 yrs they ate all their meals on towels or in the yard. They are 3 and 4 yrs now and we still have "picnics" for messy foods like spag Bol.
