I reckon he will get life. Any less and the Morcombes will appeal it I reckon...and so they should.

I'm so glad that the members of the jury were able to reach the decision they did because I don't think they would cope had they found him not guilty and then learned of his prior history.

May the rest of his days be torture for him.

    RIP Daniel.

I don't understand why the jury were not allowed to know his past? clearly he's a serial sex offender and this is a pattern of behaviour which was 100% relevant to this case.

Urgh! So sick and tired of hearing and seeing the word "repeat offender" in such violent, sadistic crimes.

We have some serious issues with our justice system when animals like this, Adrian bayley, Stephen hunter etc are out on the streets within a handful of years to commit atrocious crimes again.

I think it would have been withheld to stop bias. It is important for the judge to know because it will affect the sentence.

I hope more people come forward and press charges to really ensure he never gets out.

It's against the law for previous criminal convictions to be mentioned in a court hearing.

Them knowing previous history not related to what he did to daniel could have swayed them to give a guilty verdict. If he were innocent of the crime done to daniel then an 'innocent' man could have gone to jail for the wrong crime. He deserves life either way... even if he didnt murder daniel, for what he did to those other kids he should have been given life sentence.
