Default Runny poo after starting cows milk

DS (19 months) has been eating cheese, yoghurt and small amounts of cows milk for ages, but has been breast fed and never had much cows milk as an actual drink. I have started to wean him and he's finally started accepting cows milk, but now has foul runny poos. Has anyone else experienced this in a child who has had no dramas with other dairy products? Is it likely to go away as his tummy gets used to it? Or would you think he has a dairy intolerance. Apart from the frequent runny poos, he seems completely fine.

This happened with my two eldest DD's. I had to water down the cows milk for a while and then gradually increase the amount of cows milk in the bottle. It was just their digestive system getting used to the cows milk.
