    Ok you just made my head explode! I found another lot out the back. I looked closer and both spiders are redbacks. I got one set of eggs down. They are really sticky.

    I don't have insect spray. I have deodorant and a lighter. Very tempted. Where Bear Grylls when you need him?

    The tenancy act in NSW actually does not state who is responsible except that the landlord has to provide the tenant a fit and reasonable place to live so it really is up to each individual landlord - how long have you been there and do you have any pest clauses in your lease?

    I would definitely call your agent ASAP and tell them you seem to have an infestation of red back spiders around the home and what is their policy on pest control - your landlord might be fine about it but if not your only choice is to get it done yourself and try go to the tribunal to claim it back but then there is no guarantee you will win - good luck!
