    Default IVF in Spain!

@Samanthalee Hi, I guess it depends on what you would like to know? Write everything down so you don't forget! I asked them about timelines (how long I would need to stay) and the overall process. I also wanted to know what would happen if we got all the way over there and there were no embryos to transfer. You could also send them all of the reports from your previous cycles to see what their thoughts are and if they would do anything differently in terms of meds- even if you do egg donor this time around you may still need certain meds.

    Heeeey ladies,

I am new to the forum. Kuwtk I just want to thank you so much because I read your post before my Skype yesterday and it helped so much! So, I had a Skype yday with IVF Spain and I am so impressed... the doctor was really thorough and made me feel assured that my dream will finally come true!! So, I just wanted to know what you girls think about this mock cycle business? Was it useful? The doc seems to think it´ll do me the world of good to do a trial run of the process.
@Samanthalee Hi did you do your Skype too? How did it all go for you?

    @Ella40 hi!
I did a mock cycle.. it was useful but for me my body didn't respond the same way during the real cycle! My lining was thinner but ended up being ok as they changed my dosage of meds when we realised and it thickened up

Default Has anyone done a frozen cycle to have 2nd baby?

    Hi ladies,

We finally had our first daughter in June 2016. We are very happy with IVF Spain. Now we are planing to do a frozen transfer to have our 2nd baby in Nov this year. Just thought anyone has been there the 2nd time for frozen transfer? If so, do you still have to do a mock cycle and 'scratching' ? Im hoping to avoid it!

    Many thanks,
    Vivian

    Default Considering IVF Spain

    Hi ladies,

@RachBy thanks so much for such an insightful post. You inspired me to join the chat. I typically just read all the forums but I feel like I have much in common with what everyone is saying and esp all the encouraging chats and experiences with IVF Spain. We are also considering this clinic. Good to know things have worked out for you.

    @
Wonderfully Wishful I also live in Toronto and my initial thought was to connect with you live and learn more about your experience with IVF Spain however then realized you went a whole different route for good reasons. Also glad to hear it's worked out for you.

Someone said they often receive bounce back messages from IVF Spain. I do too but somehow despite the bounce back they do receive the emails. But I hear you, it can be frustrating.

We've had our first Skype consultation, it went really well. However we are also considering another clinic, Instituto Bernabeau and have a call scheduled with them this week. We will make a decision thereafter. Still seems like a such a big decision and so many things to consider.

It looks like IVF Spain offers discounted rates at Hotel HUSA Golf, has anyone stayed here?

    Default IVF in Spain!

Hi @Lonesome I didn't stay at that hotel but found a great place on Airbnb. Good luck deciding what clinic to go to! I went to ivf spain in Alicante exactly this time last year, so if you decide to go with them and have any questions I'd be happy to try and answer them

@Lonesome - both clinics are considered to be the best centers in Europe. This year Instituto Bernabeu and IVF Spain have been awarded as the best fertility centers. If you want to read more, go to https://www.eggdonationfriends.com/i...-2016-winners/
    Hope this helps. xx

@kuwtk thanks for you reply. I was reading through that you have endometriosis just like me.I have stage IV. Did you take lupron prior to starting your cycle? And were you successful at IVF Spain? Sorry if I've missed this.

@bluewater2 thank you for the link

    Hi @Lonesome
No I don't think I had that but certainly had lots of other things! I was on progynova, prednisolone, clexane and some other stuff. Yes I was very lucky it worked first time with a donor egg and my daughter was born dec last year we transferred two embryos despite them recommending one on the day as apparently they were great quality (cant remember the grade) so they thought there would be a high chance of twins. If you are keen to check out a forum with people who are there now or going soon have a look at fertility friends - the thread is called ivf spain Alicante cycle buddies (I think) and it's up to part 3. It's a very fast moving thread!!!

    Default IVF in Spain!

@Lonesome also the reason I chose ivf spain over a few others was because they seemed to understand more complex cases like mine - the endo plus I have high natural killer cells and thyroid issues .. I think some clinics are great if your only issue is old/bad eggs but not so great when there are other problems. so to give you an example- when I had a consult with another clinic and told them my fertility specialist in oz had recommended a laparoscopy to prepare my body as best possible for the transfer the dr just couldn't understand why it was needed- even though I'd sent him info on my medical history and previous failed cycles. Ivf spain on the other hand were fully supportive of the laparoscopy and asked me to send them the report and photos afterwards so this could be taken into account when planning my protocol
