Default How long did your Dyson vac last?

As the title suggests - how long did your Dyson vac last? Mine's motor has just burnt out after 3.5 years - considering what it cost I thought I would have gotten heaps longer out of it!!

I had a Kirby and was very unhappy with the ongoing costs to keep it running. I ended up selling it.

We bought a Dyson in 2005 and it's still going strong. 3.5 years doesn't seem like nearly long enough to me!

Gah! That would be just my luck! I used to buy cheap sh!tty vacs that would get chucked after a year, so invested in a good one, only for it to die

You know you can buy parts for it? So you just need to replace the part that's broken. We have replaced the motor head on ours twice, but we use it everyday..

We've had ours for over 7 years and it still works perfectly. In that time, I've only replaced the filter.
