    Sounds like taking DH up on his offer might be a good idea!

    I have also seen mentioned in some threads a 'wake to sleep' method, where you partially wake them an hour before their usual wake time to reset their sleep cycles and the theory is after a few days to a week they will drop that early morning wake and sleep later. It's not something I've ever tried, because mine don't go back to sleep easily and would end up with a baby up at 3am!! Might be worth looking into though.
