Default ISOFIX in Australia... possible yet?

I'm visiting Australia next month and wondered if anyone had any news about ISOFIX? Coming from Europe, our stroller seat has an isofix mount so we can just take the seat out of the frame and slot it right into the car. We are booking a rental car of course and I know it has isofix (it's a Subaru Outback) so the question now is whether we can buy a base over there or not and use our own seat or whether we're stuck carrying two seats around with us, one for the car, one for the stroller. As we're meeting family who live in Sydney, we can have them buy a base if it's legal now but I don't know where we could do that either.

Isofix seats aren't available in aus yet and are still a few months off at least. Your best bet is to get your family to buy a seat for you as you won't be able to legally use an overseas seat in Aus.

Nope, probably not until the of the year at least. Any OS seat is illegal to use, the seat must meet AUS/NZ standards.

You will need to either hire a seat or get your family to buy one.

You still can't use overseas restraints though, only seats sold here with an Australian standards sticker.
