I just wanted to take a minute to speak about the Drought and Our Farmers.
This morning I watched Sunrise where they had a story about the Farmers in Queensland.
To see some of the photos of the current situation and to listen to the Farmers just breaks my heart. To hear the emotional and mental strain on themselves, not to mention the poor cattle and how they are suffering..
I never knew just how serious the Drought situation is.
Really wish there was more that could be done..

It's terrible what they are going through.
My children's primary school is having a fundraiser at the moment to raise money to pay for hay to be transported into a drought affected community.

There is a website called buy a bale where you can buy a bale of hay, litre of diesel, gift card etc.
I wish the government would step up and help these farmers and their animals

Tony Abbott is at Bourke for a 2 day visit. He has made some very broad statements indicating aide so fingers crossed something comes from his visit.
Bourke is also getting some of this rain so hopefully it continues for them.

The drought is just awful. My DH helps run my FIL's small property and we've been hand feeding stock for months. The paddocks are stripped and there is just nothing there. Hay is getting hard to come by and so expensive. To see stock that were previously in decent condition just wasting away is heartbreaking.
Thankfully this is not our families' livelihood but it's so hard. It's hard for people to imagine how bad things are unless you've seen it for yourself. Pray for decent rain everyone!

Very sad, It is quite bad around the central west at the moment. A friend of mine (and the town) have been getting water shipped in for a few months now. It is not looking good at all.
