    Default Early Allergy Testing

    My DD has been / is allergic to wheat, egg, peanut, tree but and sesame.

    I think it's a genetic thing as I ate all of those things during my pregnancy and also hay fever, asthma and eczema run in my family (I have all of those things, but only childhood asthma), so I think it's highly likely bub 2 who is due in September will have at least 1 allergy.

    My guestion is, what's the earliest they can do a blood test and a skin prick test, for it to be accurate? I know blood tests aren't 100% accurate and I don't want to do skin prick testing too early! but I was to prepare myself in advance for anything bub #2 might be allergic to.

    Anyone had experience with early testing?

    I've seen skin prick testing done on a 12 month old, could possibly do it earlier but not sure. They said that 6 months would be too early for my DS. He is involved in an egg allergy prevention study through the children's hospital here in WA. I think it's running in SA as well? Could be worth a look. HTH

    My DD was done at 6 months, but she had terrible eczema and the dermatologist was trying to determine if it was food related.
