Vixjc - have been checking in here to see the good news! Snuggle away little bean(s)!!

Em- I had a bleed at 5 weeks lasted for day and another bigger one (pink, brown, red, clots you name it....) at early 6 weeks again for half a day but I soaked 3-4 pads. Scan showed two heart beats and I was so sure it was the end. But everything was ok (I didn't loose my twin til 11 weeks - so iam pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with the twin the bleeds ). Well as you know ism nearly 37 weeks now ( knock knock ) and its unbelievable ! Hang in there and put your feet up !

    Vix, congratulations

Em, hoping the bleed is nothing serious, glad to hear you got to see your little bean and heartbeat.

I'm glad to be back - Telstra cut off our internet mistakenly on Good Friday, and it only came back on this morning.

    Hi everyone

Vixjc, big congrats. I had a feeling it was going to work for you!

Emski, I hope you're following doctor's orders and taking it easy. I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday.

    Hi to everyone else too.

I don't think I put an update on this thread 2 weeks back when we had a glitch with our donor. Unfortunately, on the day of her screening she had some second thoughts and so the screening didn't go ahead. Second thoughts were based on not fully understanding the procedure and risks. Now that she has all the info about that she has decided to go ahead and her rescheduled screening was yesterday. The psychologist was going to really ensure that she was 100% OK to go ahead as that was obviously a concern to us after what happened.

So, for now, I'm trying to be patient while I wait for screening results. Hopefully we'll actually be able to start booking flights in a week or so!

Worst case scenario I guess is that we need to choose a new donor and live with the delay. I'd hate to have to do that, but if we have to then we have to.

We are working towards a transfer on June 9 if all goes to plan.

    x

Vixjc - Yay Yay Yay. Congrats!!! I wonder how many there are. Cant wait to hear results when you get them.

Em - seeing a heartbeat is a good sign. Im hoping everything goes smoothly for you from here on. This process is really not for the faint hearted.

MissErin - hope all goes to to plan now for June 9 and donor is all on board.

Hi! I'm currently TTC, 2 unsuccessful ivf rounds. Just wondering, if you wouldn't mind sharing with me, how many rounds it took you to get a successful preganacy? Did you use your own eggs or donor eggs? I'm 41, DH 34, no problems except my age. I had my tubes tied 15 years ago, have 2 beautiful kids (20 & 18) to previous marriage, but none with my current partner. Thanks

Hi @Petal40 were you asking anyone in particular? It took me 4 rounds with my own eggs, I would have been 39 at the time though. I had a laparoscopy after the 3rd BFN. My FS wanted to have a look even though I didn't have any glaring signs of endo but they found some and I had it removed. I think that probably helped a lot as I got my BFP straight after that and I've had a couple of IVF chemical pregnancies since then, I am guessing from poor egg quality.

    good luck!

Thanks @Bongley ,the question was for anyone kind enough to answer
I just think I need to change my FS as the one I'm with doesn't seem to bothered looking into reasons the ivf may not be working, and $$ wise we may be down to our last chance.

The nurses and doctors at both Genea and RPAH said it was standard practice to have 3 goes and then to 'dot the i's and cross the t's' which meant going in and having a look, flushing my tubes and I had a D&C as well.

Hi Petal, unfortunately I haven't had a successful pregnancy yet, but thought I'd tell you that our FS started looking for reasons after our first failed cycle. Well worth doing as there are so many things easily treated and you don't want to waste your $$$ when it's getting tight!

Just wondered what issue you have? Is it just a failure to get a BFP where everything else looks fine? Ie: you're getting good numbers of eggs, and they're fertilizing ok etc?
