Some people stand and squat as that is what the toilets are like where they come from.

Good luck.... At 8 months I'm having trouble wiping my butt let alone inspecting it for abrasions. Hence the hover.

Same here. I used to hover but now I'm usually in too much of a hurry.

Splash back can be minimized by limiting the height of the hover. Yes I need to get a life.

No, the best tip is to line the bowl with toilet paper first- zero splash back

Toilet seat gets a wipe down with toilet paper then I sit.
And then I touch the taps to wash my hands, use the air dryer, touch the door on my way out.
Germs don't bother me if I can't see them.

Yes people from countries that have holes in the floor rather than toilets often stand (squat) on seats here. I think it's gross! Their feet on the seats!

My old work toilets used to have a poster on the wall with diagrams of how not to use the toilet (eg a diagram of a person squatting with feet on seat, with a big cross across the picture).

If you put toilet paper in first, there is no splash. However, I avoid pooing unless at home if it can be helped.
