I was concerned about this also op (currently 18weeks with no.4). But so far I have had very few negative comments. Quite a few surprised, but I always think that is because ds2 is only 10months now.

I have four girls. Most people are surprised that I have four children but I don't get negative comments based on the number of kids, only the gender of them. Only have I once had a genuinely positive reaction to having all girls, most comments range from how difficult girls are, how horrible it will be in a few years, down to how my poor partner deals with us all and suggestions of repartnering to get a boy.
In regards to the number of kids, most people just ask if I'll be having more.

I have 3, had them all within 3.5 years. I get asked all the time "if that's it" but it's not really a question, because the answer they expect is "NO WAY!", so when I say yes we are considering another in a couple of years time depending how we feel when the time comes, people are a bit funny. They really expect me to say no way not a chance 3 is hard enough etc etc.

I have 4 kids and have never had a negative comment since having #4. Any comments I do get are usually around how well behaved the kids are or how they get along. People do say "you must have your hands full" which is true I do. A lot of older people say how lovely it is to see a larger family.
Where I live in Perth 4 isn't that unusual.

Regularly get the comment "you have your hands full". More often it's a look of shock when they find out that we not only have 4 Children but they are all Boys.
a lot of people ask how we do it, especially when we are both working (Only people who don't really know me, those who do know how organised I have always been)

I only have two and in my eyes 4 isn't that much, maybe as beljane says coz it's isn't uncommon in Perth? Any more then four though, I normally comment like "oh wow! Crazy. Super mum!" Not crazy as in crazy parents, more in crazy house hold. Two kids it is crazy enough at home. My friend has 5 and I think of her as a super mum coz she does a lot of the work on her own and never a bad thing to say. Takes strong parents to have so many!
