    Default Breathing difficulty.

    Good morning ladies, how are we all feeling?
    Due to the hot weather, as well as drinking water like a fish, I'm getting a dry mouth and sometimes find it hard to breath or my heart beats very fast.
    Just wondering if this would affect baby? As in the breathing mostly. Thanks in advance

    HI there. I'm in my third trimester and have got your symptoms too. Had them since my 2nd trimester. I was worried about my pounding heart particularly when laying down as I could really feel it thumping. I've told my OBGYN and midwife and they aren't worried . Just emphasized to keep drinking as dehydration isn't good. Hope this helps

    It is concerning. I think a lot of water but this weather is just awful (Adelaide) keeping my fluids up.
    Just wondered if breathing difficulty harmed baby. Hope not.

    I am the 2nd trimester now & have same symptoms; though I do not think this affects baby, so do not worry!

    Get your iron levels checked as ferritin is what 'sticks' oxygen to your blood.

    Also double check it's not indigestion, increased blood gas levels could result in these symptoms.

    Or anxiety. If you are feeling hot and anxious about it it leads to over breathing.
    Def get a check up, can't hurt.

    Sometimes over breathing can make you feel like you are not breathing enough, ie hyperventilating. I do that and feels awful and sends heart rate high. I would mention to dr and if not medical try spending 5 mins each morning breathing slowly - aiming for less than 5 breaths a minute. I put my hand on my belly too to make sure I breathe calmly - belly out on in breath, in on out. These 5 mins worked really good for me to calm me and stop my over breathing. Also we do need to breathe more in pregnancy so we become more aware of this usually natural thing. But do see your gp to get it checked out
