Default Dodgy people you know and their dodgy behaviour- light hearted

After a discussion with a friend the other day he was telling me about a charming wealthy friend he had who would always round up payment for the dinner bill at the end of the night. He said it took years for the group of friends to work out that he always overcharged them and pocketed the change. I also know a man who would take his wife and kids out for dinner and then send them all to the car before he paid the bill. Turns out he would 'do a runner' on the bill- took the wife a long time to catch on to him!

Do you know any dodgy characters with dodgy behaviours? I'll come back later to add a few more but surely I can't be the only person who knows dodgy people!

I know a dodgy colleague who quite often would be 'busy' (but actually on the phone/in the toilet/hiding behind curtains!) whenever you needed help. If course they would crack if you didnt rush to help them. Dodge for sure

Subbing, I think this will be a good read!

Last week a guy came into work and asked me to fill up his water bottle.. Then dirty plates were brought to the counter and he asked if he could take the chips someone had left on the plate. I felt sorry for him but he didn't look homeless.

I was having a lot of trouble with my engine, something that meant I would have to replace it.. Within about 10 minutes of talking to my BIL about it he had devised a plan to "steal" it and burn it out so I could do a dodgy insurance claim. I'm not talking just suggesting the idea, he was ready to go then and there.. Ahhhh no thank you, it may have cost me $2000 to replace my engine but I'm not committing insurance fraud! He's red hot, always buying and selling crappy cars to unsuspecting people and bragging about it.

What about people that stock up on salt & pepper, spreads, sugar, napkins, plastic cutlery, etc. By seizing opportunity at fast food outlets. Do they count?
I've come across a few of those people in my life. One woman I know, even has a child. She doesn't own proper cutlery and will only have some plastic ones if she got them with her most recent fast food purchases.

My mother told me once how she use to live in a very small town with 2 pubs that were both struggling because there just wasn't enough business for them both. Rumours started up about how one was going to burn down.. A week or so later everyone was awoken by sirens and the whole town turned up to watch one of then burn. She said it was clear the insurance people knew what had happened but they just couldn't prove it. You wouldn't get away with it these days though.
