Turn it on a day or so before you use it if there hasn't been a few hot days in a row (like 35-40) otherwise the pool will be freezing. Be careful of how much u use the hearing though because you may get a shock with gas/electricity bills. If you don't have it already, I'd recommend getting the solar heating for it (a black hose) that runs water through if constantly & heats that way, is more cost efficient. Running the pool pump for filtering is costly enough. Are u using salt or chlorine?

Our pool can be heated but we've turned the heating off. It's way to expensive to run.

Instead we keep the pool blanket on and only take it off when were using the pool. If it's warm enough to want to swim the pools great. If it's colder we just use the spa which is currently 31 degree
