    Default Weaning off bottles

My daughter is 11 months old and I want to begin weaning her off her bottles when she turns 1 as I've seen the issues my sister has had by leaving it until later with kids who can argue! Her diet is great and she eats heaps so I know that nutritionally, she won't need it.

She has refused a first morning bottle since she was 7 months old so has a bottle before each of her 2 day sleeps and 1 before bed at night. I know I've created a bit of a rod for my own back by associating bottle with bed but we just sort of fell into that routine.

So how did you do it, which bottle did you eliminate first? How hard was it? Any tips?

I was lucky as by 1 he just had a night and morning one so I just started cutting out the morning one by offering breakfast as soon as he woke up and night time I just started putting in less and less, it was really just a habit not hunger so for about a month he was only drinking 20ml , then I swapped the bottles with super sipper sports bottles and added more water until it was just water - I did it gradually and really had no dramas - he was about 15 months I think when he was bottle and formula free
