Default Nausea & Cramping - Return of AF?

So my baby is nearly 7 months old and my period has not returned yet. About a month ago I started getting mild cramps and then 10 days ago I started getting nausea as well. Some days the nausea is bad and others its very mild. I have taken a few HPT just to rule pregnacy out, all BFN. We are not trying to get pregnant, hubby had the snip when bub was 4 months and we are using protection till we get the all clear after his snip.
Could these issues just be my cycle coming back?
    Thanks

it could be your hormones still adjusting

my bub is 7.5 months and my AF came back at 8 weeks, but my hormones are still levelling out (eg nausea, anxiety, hair loss)
