Hello
Im unsure where to put this but would really like some advice
my son has recently turned 5
the past few weeks he has been 'experi.menting with his gen.it.als'
sorry im unsure how to word it
this has been happening more and more frequently ..... i am a single mother and have been single since before his birth so he hasnt been exposed to behaviour like that
whenever i talk to him about it he shouts violently at me
he has been to.u. chi.ng himself for about 4 hours this evening and im just after advice about what i should do or say
he has also been saying inappropriate things to do with the above topic ... saying 'this happened' when im quite certain that didnt happen
ADIVCE PLEASE

This is a very useful tool that talks about what is normal sexual behaviour in children.

If it was just him touching himself I honestly wouldn't be worried. Not sure re the saying its happened to him part though? I hope someone can help x
eta - is he ever alone with anyone else other then you? Not to worry you but the aggression about it and him saying its happened to him ring alarms.... but it could be nothing but its worth thinking about anyone who is around him. x

If he says something happened believe him and take action immediately. Huge alarm bells are ringing.

Agree with pp. I wouldn't classify this is as normal exploration for a 5yo. The persistence, agression and saying 'this happened' make me think there is something more to it.
I am sorry op, but most children are abused by someone they know and trust.
Big hugs x
