Default Failed 1st glucose test did you pass 2nd one?

I just had my gd non fasting one hour test yesterday and have failed with a result of 8.8 mmol
It's a bit of a surprise even from doctor because I am 45kg pre preg and still only 52kg.
Do most people pass the fasting 2 hour one?

Yes, with my first pregnancy I failed the gct (8.7) and then the gtt one came back fine.

Since yours is low range fail I would imagine your 2nd one will hopefully come back ok.

I didn't but hopefully you will. I was quite overweight pre baby and I ended up with insulin dependent gd.

Apparently it is not uncommon to 'fail' the 1st test. I also did not pass this one and was 50kgs pre pregnancy and very healthy. I was pretty shocked not to pass due to these factors but I did find out later that even smaller women can get GD.

My level was similar to yours and I passed the 2nd test. Try not to worry, it doesn't mean much right now and even if you did have GD the main intervention is diet. Good luck!

Thank you heaps for your replies. I am confident even if fail next one I can control it with diet.

1st pregnancy, failed the 1st and passed the 2nd.
2nd pregnancy I was sent straight to the 2nd which I passed.
3rd pregnancy I failed the 1st again, then passed the 2nd.
