    Default Travelling interstate for ivf

    Hi there Ladies,

It's been while since I've last posted in these forums. To cut a long story short, I moved from Perth to Canberra after doing one IVF cycle at Concept (in Perth). We still have 4 embryos there, and I'm considering going back to Perth for my next cycle, as opposed to transporting the embryos here. I think it will be much cheaper to fly back to Perth (for at least one cycle), as it will cost more than $1200 to transport embryos from Perth to Canberra.

Has anyone had any experience with traveling a long way to do their IVF cycles? Is it easy to get blood tests done? Medication etc? Appointments?

    Any tips?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    TIA

    Hi there,

I travelled from cairns to Brisbane for my cycles.

The clinic was fantastic and would regularly send me referral letters for scans, bloods via email.

They sent scripts in the mail for any meds I needed, or if it was very specific or hard to get they would liaise with Qfg in cairns and arrange for meds to be collected from there. Another option was a courier.

I found it quite stress free but just be aware that having the scans done at a radiology place is not bulk billed and you may be out of pocket for them.

Feel free to pm if you have any other questions.
