Default What gestation was bub when you had an elective c-section?

I'm preggers with number two, due early August. I had an emergency ceaser with my son, and have no desire for a vaginal birth so will be booking in for an elective this time around. I'm hoping to have it scheduled as close to my EDD as possible, but I'm curious what the standard procedure for electives generally is? I'm going public, if that makes a difference.

Sorry not my experience but my sister's. She had an emergency c section for her first and opted for an elective c section for her second. They did it right on 40 weeks and this was in a public hospital

    I had mine at 38+5,
The obs would have preferred to be 39+ something but everything was fine with bubby.
Obs told me that generally unless there is something wrong with either you or bub they try to hold out to 39w

It depends on the reason you're having a c section but most doc dont like to do them before 38 weeks. My last c section was at 37 but that's because my uterine scar was very thin.

Both of mine where elective and done as close to due dates as possible depending on theatre days of OB.. However my pead said my second should have been earlier due to his size but I wasn't overly uncomfortable.

I had mine at exactly 39 weeks. My OB only does C/S on Fridays so this was the date I was given.
