my name is katelyn and i will be going for my next round of icsi in late feb. we have done a few insems, two full stim cycles of ivf, throw in a couple of miscarriages and its been a hard couple of years. after my last failed ivf they worked out that i have high natural killer cells and that might be why embryos arent sticking. next cycle we will do steroids and aspirin to help lower my immunity and hopefully allow the embryo to stick
next month or so of waiting might kill me i think. what are you girls doing to pass the time?

It looks like I will be joining you as well.
We are doing IVF due to male fertility issues.
We did our fist stim cycle in December and the transfer resulted in a BFN.
We have 3 frosties and will be looking at using one in February. I haven’t spoken to my FS yet so maybe he would say we can try this month, but I think I need the break.
Frances and Katelyn I’m sorry for the issues you have both had and I hope 2014 is a lot kinder to you

Hi everyone I will do be doing my first cycle in jan but I thought I'd jump on in as this thread is abit shorter than the jam thread may be easier to get to no ppl 😊
Hubby is fine I had mild endo removed late sept and I was have PCO I'm think with mostly regular cycles so FS keeps telling me we should be conceiving I've also done 5 rounds of clomid with no succes (2 of those done after endo was removed)
Good luck to everyone I look forward to hearing all the stories and journeys that 2014 holds 😊😊
Me 26, DH 30

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining - I'll start an ICSI cycle this month, maybe around Jan 20. The Jan thread is already so long, I have no hope of catching up. I live in Sydney.
Does anyone else already have children? We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and did three full stim cycles in 2011. Our DS was born in April 2012. I got a massive shock when I fell PG naturally in May 2013 (we hadn't been trying very long), but was devastated when it turned out to be ectopic and both of my tubes were removed during the surgery.
We then did an FET is September 2013, which ended in miscarriage the following month. DH took it all very hard, but I've managed to convince him to try again next cycle.
Someone asked about embryo glue - thats a new thing that they put on the embryo when they transfer it back to help it stick to the uterine lining. I've only used it once, and we did fall pregnant (even if it did end up as a miscarriage).

Welcome VikkiB, our journeys are very similar, I have a DS and then had a ruptured ectopic requiring 2 surgeries and now onto IVF. I hope your lucky bean is this coming cycle x

The embryo glue is just a different culture they are put in before the transfer, And I am also on aspirin, I am getting all my bloods run again also.
My transfer wont be until late Feb, Im trying to prepare my body as much as I can now NO caffeine NO alcohol etc.
I am worried about the killer cells but the doc is checking over everything again at least.

Sorry to hear that most of you have had a rough time so far with this roller coaster.
We will be onto our 3rd full stim cycle but with a new fs and clinic. I am seeing gareth weston from Monash on wednesday to sort out a treatment plan.
I hope this year is kind to all of us. Stillfun, I remember you from the nov thread, im so sorry to hear it was a chemical for you. Big hugs. Fresh start this year.

Hey Megsarama I remember you too!! Why do you have such poor day 5 rates? Do you think your old clinic had poor techniques? For such a high retreival number you aren't getting a very good outcome, how many did you have at day 3? My clinic makes the decision on how many we have at day 3 and because I only had five that's why we did a day three, much to my suprise I has 2 turn into blastys on day 5 and the other 2 were a little slower but made it on day six, I have one 4AA one 4AB one 4BA and one 3AB, I asked my fs about transferring 2 and he doesn't want to because its my first blastocyst and its of good quality, I'm so excited for my FET and I'm praying for a positive outcome, my test day will be around DHs birtday so what an awsome pressie " honey were pregnant!"

Thats why we changed clinics, I really feel like the old clinic didnt give us our best shot. They never told us the grade of our embryos, never seemed bothered or surprised by the drop off rate and just in all had a really bad experience. By day 3 we had 6/7 still going..
We had our appt with monash on wednesday and I LOVE our new specialist and plan. If the same thing happens this time then ill know its an egg quality problem but I really have high hopes. We will also be doing ICSI, the fs thinks that despite the good fertilization rates, if we icsi the rest we will hopefully have more embryos to play with (hopefully meaning less stims!)
The bad news, im no longer a feb thread as we will be starting in march now, but ill check in to see your progress.
I really hope this is it for you, it would be an amazing gift for dh birthday. I have all of my fingers and toes crossed for you.

You can still stick around megsarama, I'm Hoyt transferring until late Feb, I'm still trying to figure out my cycles, I will call my nurse when I start my next cycle and do my CD21 scan. We will be on holidays for my transfer so I will be nice and relaxed ( I hope) one month living in hotels and ivf will be expensive.
