My parents have a portacot, highchair, toys, wipes and a bouncer and playmat when they were little. We only live 4 min drive away but it was great! They all got used, we're there 2-3 times a week and both the highchair & portacot get used every time!
My mum and dad both have car seat in their cars (or there to go in there car if needed) which is handy for us as they do the off daycare pick up/drop off.
I think it's a lovely idea and I know I appreciate it :-)
My inlaws, who live interstate and have a highchair & porta cot... God send! And always have baby bath wash/ shampoo for us to use when we go there so I don't have to take that :-)

My parents have everything under the sun they live 4hrs away so it's so convenient not having to have the boot chock full of baby stuff.

I think it's a thoughtful idea and something I'll do with my grand kids.
Maybe take your daughter/in law to shop with you so you know they'll be happy useing the items & buy the best quality you can afford if it's likely you'll have a few grand kids
