Chicken soup is fine, main thing to avoid is dairy as the lining of your gut gets stripped away and introducing dairy too early can bring on temporary lactose intolerance - I'm recovering from a nasty bout of Bali belly and this was the advice the Dr gave me a few days ago oh and avoid anything really fatty as well. Your tummy will tell you what is good or no good

Fruit is ok but be careful not to have too much, it has a lot of natural sugars which can aggravate symptoms. Basically avoid dairy, fatty, oily or sugary foods.
    Suggestions:
Pita breads with plain spreads such as vegemite are good.
Fruit toast with just a scraping of butter.
Some fresh carrot or celery sticks with a small amount of hommous.
Gastrolyte, hydralyte or Gatorade are all good for replacing energy and electrolytes which would have been lost during your illness.

BRAT diet is best to go by for 24-48 hrs after gastro. I have to use this when I've had a bad case of IBS because my bowel and intestines are inflamed.

Natural yoghurt plain is ok to try after the 24hrs

Haha.. After all the suggestions of BRAT diet I had to google. Why have I never heard it referred to like that?
