Nat, how much tummy time do you think is the minimum I should aim for? I find it so hard when she starts crying after a minute. I try to do incidental tummy time as often as I can but still it is only brief each time.

MrsErinR, I know all bubs are different but we had really late sitters and crawlers and I do think I could've persisted more with tummy time. Work up to 5 mins if you can (I know it feels like an eternity). One thing I learnt too late was to carry bub on their belly, sort of superman flying, around the house. They think it's fun and it strengthens necks. I used to lay down with knees bent above me and rest them on my legs. They thought this was fun. Fit balls are supposed to be good. I didn't try that though. Later on I found a pool noodle was a good thing under their arms, rolled up towels didn't work so well for mine. A friend puts a laptop on the ground with something fun to look up at. Just ideas. Don't let it worry you at all, just do what you can. My two have large heads so this certainly inhibited their neck control too, not just tummy time.

I wasn't, but I do still get the notification emails it seems. :-). My little Sammy is six months old now and we are weaning him to formula so that we can make an attempt at #2. How about you?

    Hi @RoRo :-)

Leah is going to be 6 months next week. We are also weaning, for the same reason. I was going to wait until she hit the 6 month point but she's really enthusiastic about the bottle right now so in seizing the opportunity. She also started on solids, at the advice of the nurse, about 6 weeks ago.

6 months is such a milestone isn't it!? We're also moving her out of our bedroom this week and into her nursery/cot.

    Hi Everyone,

I am 38 and expecting no. 3. I am a mum of two girls 8 and 10 and am 9 weeks along currently. This is my partner's first, so he is a little more freaked out, however he is coping great so far. I am due in March, hence my uber creative username lol. Would be awesome to share my experiences with mummas to be around my age. Cheers Sam

Hi @Marchbundle, congrats on your 3rd pregnancy. I don't think this thread is really too active now as most of us who were on it have become pregnant and moved on.

There is a great thread titled "Over 40 & pregnant/parenting through IVF/DE #4" that is very active and supportive and I mostly participate there now. I know you are not 40 and possibly not IVF either but you would be made most welcome there if you wanted to join in. There are other Under 40's. Same for you @RoRo. Please come over and say I invited you to join us if you like.

    Hi girls,

This just came up in my email and thought I'd let you know bubba #2 arrived with great haste on 26/6, 40+6. Beautiful baby girl, Emma weighing a whopping 4.38kg! Nearly 6 weeks old and settling in beautifully. Her big brother loves her to bits.

Wishing those trying soon for second bubbas all the very best and for those with their families complete, enjoy! It's been a lovely journey with you all. Best wishes to you all.

    Oh Wunsi! Congratulations! 4.38kg...wow :-)

You and RoRo have used our boys name choice, and now the likely choice if we have another girl. Love the name Emma.

    X
