Default Who has had a hysterectomy ?

If you don't mind me asking, what are your seasons behind having it done.
Do you regret it , how was the surgery,
how long did it take for you to get back on your feet...

I had one in 2004 aged 33 due to severe endometriosis. I was in hospital 3 days. up and walking around the next morning and just had panadol and nurofen for pain relief as im allergic to stronger meds and recovery was about 6 weeks. I wasn't allowed to drive or lift anything heavy. to be honest it was just the same as when I had my c- section. I don't regret it one bit. I had to beg the Drs to give me one as my quality of life was suffering.. It was the best thing I ever did... I had a full hysterectomy meaning they took everything including the neck of my vagina..oh and they did it just above my c section scar

Subbing. How certain were you, that you didn't want more kids. This is one of my options but as I'm about 99% sure I don't want anymore the dr's won't do it just yet.

I wanted more kids but I had to look at my quality of life and how I could be for my 2 kids I have.. They deserved a mum that could go out and do things at that time of the month, not a mum who couldn't leave the house due to pain, blood flow and anxiety... in the end I had to make the decision and it was hard but I don't have any regrets... I suffered from endo from age 16 to 33.and had it on my bowel and bladder as well .. it had to be done...
