I think the big companies don't even care. I bought xmas presents from big w mid November. I got in contact with them last week to see what was going on. Apparently they are out of stock of one game I bought so they wouldn't be sending anything of mine out until 27 January. ...so helpful considering they are meant to be xmas presents.
It's really poor form that they are selling things that are out of stock, and not even bothering to contact the customer to let them know there is going to be a ridiculous delay.
I've got 2 other packages I'm waiting on but they are from companies I've not had issues with in the past so fingers crossed they show up at least.

When you phone are you speaking to a person or a machine?
Maybe ask to speak to someone, 3 weeks in transit is pathetic, even over christmas!
The website says at most a week. What are they saying when you call? They should be able to tell you the exact location of the parcel?

OP you should ring the AusPost 13hotline and give them the tracking number and complain ASAP. They will be able to give you some answers. I rang up and complained that the parcel delivery man was not ringing my buzzer to deliver my parcel. I would be sitting at home and receive an email saying your parcel can be picked up from the post office as an attempt to deliver was made but no answer. This happened so many times as we were buying baby things online and Xmas presents. They sent me a letter and now the delivery man rings my buzzer and I don't have to go to the post office. Yay!

They should be able to tell you exactly where it is, where it has been signed into and what driver has it. If they can't tell you these things then there is a problem. When you call them demand to know what is going on, if the person you are talking to can't tell ask to speak to their manager.
