Wow!! Massive news regarding SIDS.
Hopefully they can find an accurate method for testing and prevent any more beautiful children being sadly lost.
I for one will stop worrying so much about allowing our bubs into bed and not feel 'naughty' or like im doing something terrible

I would be interested to know after reading this if the case of Kathleen Folbigg will be looked at a little closer. She is the lady who lost 4 kids to SIDS deaths, and was later jailed for manslaughter.
I'm not saying she did or didn't do it, but it would be interesting.

There goes the AVN's theory about vaccines causing SIDS, wonder which link they will try and find next?

I read this too. I'm glad they seem to have isolated a cause, but I can't help wondering the impact on a mum who has a baby take this blood test to be told they have a 'predisposition' to SIDS. You'd just never sleep! And, then what happens next? Can they cure it, or is it inevitable in these babies? So many questions!
I do like that it may be able to give some degree of peace to parents who have lost a baby to SIDS and have always wondered if they contributed to the death in some way.

I find it interesting with what they are saying caused it or 'think' did.
Ive had a friend lose two children one from sids & then a still born. I feel for her everyday. And wonder if something must of been wrong she was recently diagnosed with a medical condition in her latest preg.

That is absolutely brilliant news. It looks like science triumphs again!
I don't know about anyone else but SIDS scared the bejeezes out of me when I bought my babies home. One of the first nights with DD I sat up the entire night and just held her in my arms because I was just so scared that she would stop breathing. I watched her all night.
