We did option b just this year
The biggest issues have been work situation & medical care. Medical care is way better than we got in Sydney but it's different & I find it hard to get used to.
Work sucks, opportunities & work ethic/safety terrible up here especially for DH. Be prepared with a few months money behind you as jobs can be scarce in smaller towns.
Other than that we ❤️ it and it's given us a great quality of living & wonderful lifestyle for kids. We have found it hard to click with people so don't socialise with anyone new, however truth is we aren't overly sociable people anyway lol

If you have children/are thinking children in near future I would go option b. how lovely to bring up children without the stress of a massive mortgage!
If not, I'd stay in city while young and free

For me it really depends on if you have kids, their ages and if you needed support. Otherwise with your new info provided above, I'd go option A.

One kid. 5 years old. No cousins, aunts uncles in Australia. Not sure if we need support. We've made it this far. Wold be nice to have my mum and dad to look after him if we wanted to go out at night although if we moved we'd have no one to go our with. We could buy a dog if we moved home tho. Sigh.....

The worst that can happen is we regret it and there's no turning back....

Oh, when you said 'town' I pictured a small country town. If I could live in Brissy mortgage free I would jump at the chance! So I change my answer to option B - and that way you can spend time with your parents too. Brisbane is a lovely place.
