Thanks for everyone's replies. I will email the company tomorrow and get some feedback.

I would prefer to call but there was no contact number provided in the email sent to me. I do have a name from the email but I thought it may be weird if I called the company's main number and then asked to be put through to this person.

I sent them an email and they were good enough to call back to give feedback.
They told me there was no issue with my cv, but they already had a candidate for the role when they received my cv.

That's great that they got back to you. And also good news that there was nothing 'wrong with your application'
    How's the job hunting going?

Been scanning Seek periodically but nothing I've wanted to apply for.
Not many new roles have popped up in the last few weeks (which I had expected given Christmas and new years)

I'm in the same boat - looking for a job. How do you ask for flexibility if its a full time role? My bub is 1.5yrs I would like to have a day working from home or off but it seems like no one is interested.

What kind of work are you looking for? Not all jobs can be done from home, and a new employer might not want that arrangement as you haven't worked for them before so they don't know that you are able and willing to work effectively from home. Some people do take the p-ss with this, and I know a couple who have their kid with them on their day working at home instead of having childcare arrangements (and it's a job that needs to be done during working hours).

But you can always ask, and a four day week is possible for most jobs (not all employers see it that way of course!).

I think I would apply and then if I got asked to interview I would then ask about the possibility of a four day week. That way you know they're already interested in your experience. Worst they can say is no!
