Does anyone here have a king size bed? Is it worth the upgrade from a queen? We need a new bed & mattres. We dont have the biggest bedroom but would love a bigger bed! Tossing up if we should upgrade to a king and give up some space. Also we would have to buy all new sheets and doona covers etc in king size.
What do you all think?

Queen or King size bed?

Dp and I upgraded to kind maybe 6 years ago now, and we love it, we would never go back, but I'm the kind of person who loves my own space in bed, and DP runs hot, so he cooks me if he is too close. Some drawbacks
* Linen is more expensive
* Due to you both sleeping so far apart, a hump can form down the middle of the mattress
* When you travel and you get a smaller bed, it can seem very uncomfortable
* Plenty of room for kids
* if you're fighting you can both sleep in the same bed still
* Great in summer on a hot night when the last thing you want is another person right beside you
* More room for... um.. play...
My sister and her DH bought one when they had their first baby.. and now their youngest is two they have gone back to a queen, because she doesn't like all the extra space and they don't share their bed with their kids anymore.. so I guess it's all up to personal choice

I have a tiny bedroom, my bed takes up 90% of it, but I wouldn't give up my king sized bed... I love it.

I never thought I had a problem with my queen but can't believe how much room I feel like I have in my new King despite it only being like 30cm wider. Hubby is a hot sleeper and as much as I love him - I do prefer him on his own side!

Yes you will need new linen and a doona.
When we have travelled and had to sleep in a Queen or shock horror a double it has seemed so cramped. Even our camping bed is a King lol.

Definitely king. We upgraded a few months ago and you won't regret it. It doesn't actually take up too much more room.
