Hi all just wondering what contraception you use?
For the pill takers, did it make you gain weight? Moody?
MirenA, how did it effect you?
just interest in what works best and to ear it from real people not just Internet sites!

I am currently on the mini pill as I'm bf, but it took me a long time to figure out that it made my libido disappear and also makes me very snappy. I've been on it for nearly 12 months. When my baby turns 1, I plan on stopping bf and going back to my regular pill called trifeme, which I found great.

I have a mirena and I got an inflamed pelvis for a while but all good now and have had it for 3 yrs... The worst is getting it put in I reckon.

We use Creightons (natural family planning).
Doesn't affect me at all no weight gain, no mood swings, no impact on my future fertility - it's great for us!

Mini pill for me due to breast feeding. I do believe it is hindering my weight loss but it also could be that I eat a lot (again due to breastfeeding).
It's hard to remember at the same time every day, too.

Mini pill and bf too. Had to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to take it. Has been 2 years since I had been on bc while ttc so when I finish bf no idea what one will go on
I think that it probably doesn't help weight loss either but then neither does the motilium :/

I've been on the regular pill for approx 10years now. Ive never noticed any difference in myself but I suppose that can also be attributed to me being on it for so long and being on it has become normality.. I'm hoping that the rumors about the pill decreasing libido are correct because DF and I are going to start TTC early next year!

I've had a Mirena in for 5 months now and I love it. I've had no side effects at all and my AF gets lighter each month (supposedly it will stop all together). I'd highly recommend it based on my experience.

Im on the pill. It worked fine pre babies.. but I absolutely HATE taking it now. I sometimes skip a month and I feel so much better... I actually feel like I am pumping my body with hormones and it makes me a crazy lady. I also hate remembering to take it every day (my phone reminds me)
But I dont know what else would suit me. Possibly copper iud.. on my list to ask the dr about when I get my papsmear in a couple of weeks.

I have the implanon and have had them on and off for 10 years (off when TTC and pregnant) you can get them in 6 weeks postpartum and no issue with breastfeeding. If you asked me a year ago I would have raved about it, I never got a period and my fertility returned straight away (with DD I got pregnant within 48 hours of having it removed). But the past year I have been bleeding 3 weeks out of 4, I am fed up and have a GP appointment to get it taken out.
