Default Parenting payment single & paid parental leave

Parental Leave Pay will be treated as income for child support purposes. Parental Leave Pay will not be treated as income in calculating Parenting Payment (partnered or single) and other income support payments, such as the Disability Support Pension, Newstart Allowance, and Veterans' Affairs payments.

Does that mean that if I am on parenting payment and eligible for 18 weeks paid parental leave then I can receive both payments? Very confusing.

Really, that's insane was it the full parenting rate? I find it so bizzare the don't class it as "income"

How long does it take from when you use the express app to provide "add a newborn" to when you are paid?

I'm getting the payments from centrelink directly also, not my employer as I left there

I didn't do it on the app, sorry didn't take me long though was within two weeks and that was waiting for my employer to pay me so should be quicker for you
