Is that different to regular sauce?

I have not done anything with lentils. Don't even know how to cook them. I guess you just boil them. Then just use it in the sauce instead of mince?

Sounds good might try it for the kids. Oh I'll have some too.

Yep I call it Lentil Bog ! Basically just make a pasta sauce and chuck lentils in instead of mince.
For red lentils I buy the dried ones boil them for about 7 mins or so then drain and add to the pasta sauce.

I make a cheap plum sauce type thingy with cheap cuts of meat. Make in oven, slow cooker or electric fry pan. Just cook onion, garlic, brown meat to seal a bit (or don't!) add about half jar of the cheapest plum jam you can find (i pay about $1.50) and a bit of water. Adding french onion soup makes it nicer and you can throw in your veg too if you like. Also can add chilli if you like some spice. The amount of plum jam is really to taste. Works beautifully on cheap pork forequarter chops, oyster blade steak, chicken thighs....anything on special in bulk at the time! We put it on a bed of mash.
