My challenge got a little easier last night as we went to mil for dinner. Does anyone know if banana cake freezes ok? Our neighbours have given us loads of bananas so going to make some banana cakes today.

Yum. We are having hamburgers tonight with a couple of rissoles I found in the freezer and mum brought some bread rolls over as she works at a bakery so whatever doesn't sell at the end of the day she gets to take home. And some bacon and our own chickens eggs. Then whatever salads I have in the fridge I love trying to be creative at least we are eating meals we don't usually make. Tomorrow night we will have tacos to use up the rest of the salad before it all goes yuck

If it makes u feel better TB&M I blew it too. Got Indian for dinner but it lasted me dinner for 2 nights. I naively didn't realise it meant u couldn't have dinner out lol.
Our shop has to last us till next thursday anyways as my centrelink money will be swallowed up by bills!

I have $40 to last Tuesday week.. that's 10 dinners and 6 lunches that we are all home for (but ds needs lunch every day). $18 of that is for formula!... and I haven't done a proper shop for a fortnight. Luckily we are reasonably well stocked!
Chicken breast x2
Hot dog sausages (4)
Frozen mixed veg
Frozen chips (1/4 pkt)
Loaf bread (for toast)
Chicken & Garlic Ravioli (1/2 pack)
Apples & pears to be cooked for bub
Pasta (afew packets)
2 min noodles
Tin tomatoes x2
Rice crackers, jatz, dried fruit, 1/4 box shapes
Breakfast - cereal, toast, eggs, pancakes
Lunches - sausages in bread, pita pizzas, sandwiches, 2 min noodles, eggs, bacon
My dinner plan -
1. Vegetable curry / steak for dh
2. Chicken ravioli with home made cream sauce and steam veg
3. Chicken salad wraps
5. BBQ steak with roast veg for dh & ds (just roast veg for me)
6. Cottage pie with garlic bread
7. Hot dogs with oven chips - treat for the boys!
8. Home made chicken schnitzels with steam veg & mash
9. Left over lasagne
10. Throw together / left overs
Potatoes, 1 tomato, small handful beans (only if cheap), bananas, jar pasta sauce, hot dog rolls, salsa.
I am hoping that dh gets some decent tips at work this weekend so we can do a fresh food (fruit, bread, milk) top up later in the week. He normally gets anywhere between $10 & $50.
We certainly arent going to starve! Just a matter of using up what we have.
