So today I raced out to a shopping center to grab a few things for my DH and after I unloaded the trolley I quickly raced it to the nearest trolley bay. A lady was sat on some stairs while a toddler stood at the bottom. The toddler was yelling at me telling me to put my trolley in another bay as the bay I was putting mine in was fuller. As I was in a rush I just quickly smiled at him and said "it's okay" then put the trolley in the bay closest to me and turned and walked away. As I walked away I heard the lady say to the child "tell her whatever" so the boy yelled out 'whatever" to me and then kept yelling it until I got into my car. I was so annoyed I didn't have time to go back and tell her off but would you have done so? Do you think this is rude and teaching him bad behaviours to speak to a strange adult like this.

Yes it's rude but no I wouldn't have said anything, but that's because people scare me and you never know when they might snap. Lol

His mum isn't rude. She's just an idiot. She doesn't know any better.
Some people amaze me.

It's odd really. I mean, who personally cares about how many trolleys are in the bay? Then to take it further and get a child to tell people what you think because you're too gutless?
I would have just smiled at them and walked away. Hardly seems worth saying something over it.

I hate the term 'whatever'. If you are not articulate enough to string a sentence togeher to make an argument or put your case forward. Don't bother saying anything.

When I come across an obnoxious little child, with a smart mouth, I imagine they have idiotic parent(s) just like that parent.
