    Default Yakult. Should I bother?

    I bought some Yakult today for my 15 month old DD.
    DH has googled it and claims it's a waste of time giving it to her. I must admit I was annoyed at most of the negative stuff I read about it as DD loved the taste and I thought giving it to her daily would be beneficial.
    So is it really an unnecessary product? Is "pro-biotic" just a hot word to suck people in to thinking they are being healthy?
    Anyone else give it to their kids or drink it themselves? What do you think?

    I don't think its that fab. It's loaded with sugar. I'd say you're better of saving your money and giving her yoghurt

    It's not going to do her any harm, put it that way.
    I personally don't bother anymore, I gave it to the kids for a while but don't think it did much to be honest.

    Yep full of sugar which causes yeast over growth anyway. I'm pretty sure you can get probiotic powder for kids.

    Yea we found it to be pretty sugar heavy too.
    We have a probiotic powder that we just add to dds drinks

    I have given DS a pro biotic powder since I stopped breastfeeding him at 3 months old - I would suggest doing that over the Yakult

    Thanks for all of your replies. Yes, the sugar content was a shock to me. I will look into getting her a pro biotic in another form.

    Hmmm...
    I used to take inner health plus but my scientist friend (whom has a PHD) said that it's pointless as it doesn't survive the digestive tract and make it down the the gut anyway.

    I was a little shocked heading it because I swear it helped with some issues I was having. Any thoughts on this?
    She was pretty adamant about it...

    I know you're asking about kids but, just curious in general. Would love to know if anyone has feedback from their gp?
