Sending hugs missV, When It was me testing, I would prefer to know with a bfn than af. At least you know now and are not in suspense waiting to find out.
Calstar, I go to an exercise class each week run by the hospital physios, and she says with Pelvic Floor Exercises you need to be able to squeeze, then lift, then lower and release.
She describes it like a lift where you squeeze the doors closed, then lift to level 1,2 or 3, then lower back to bottom level and release the doors.
You need to do all 4 steps to be doing them properly and it is just as important to be able to control the 'lower and release' as it it to squeeze.
It does not matter if you are holding for 2 or 20 seconds to begin with, as long as you are controlling the lower and release and not just letting the muscles relax without realising.
We do a few combos of exercises. levels 1 and 2 of the elevator are for longer sustained holds. and level 3 is for quick squeezes. (think holding in wee when sneezing or coughing)

Loving all this kegels talk, and especially loving that calstar is so keen she's getting barbells!
The physio closes for 2 weeks over Christmas and there's no appointments this week, so the earliest I can get in is 13th of jan, but she did give me some great advice so am feeling okay about it all. I may have even noticed some improvement today, on our walk things didn't feel worse when I got back, just the same.
Calstar, mrs la has said it well, that's how I have been trying to do them, the elevator way. I hold for 10 seconds and do ten reps. Three times, so thirty kegels, but resting I between squeezes is important to, keep breathing normally, if you are doing then right no one could tell you are doing them. So tummy doesn't draw in or buttocks and thighs clench. Also when you cough, lift something heavy or sneeze lift them up nice and tight. This could just be for those with drooping cervix's though!
Little duck, I have to try a lie down as much as possible, but have been told it is important to keep up normal activity. So lying on the floor to play with ds and reading books in bed have been big this week!
We decorated biscuits at story time today, ds was in sugar heaven!
