Hummus is so easy and cheap to make a good substitute for margarine type spreads and a delish dip for all kinds of things.

I use a ratio of one cup of cooked chick peas to 1/3 to 1/2 cup of tahini (depending on your own taste/ texture preference more tahini gives a smoother texture) juice of a small lemon (2-3 tbs) half clove of garlic. You can also add cumin and olive oil if desired. Simply blend.

I like making huge batches, it can be frozen.

    Going to try these tonight

    Fried Honey Bananas
    Serves 1

    1 slightly under-ripened banana, sliced
    1 tablespoon honey
    Cinnamon
    Olive oil

Lightly drizzle olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Arrange banana slices in pan and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side.

I think I'll serve with full fat vanilla yoghurt.
