You and your partner made that choice as a family and it's no one else's business.
Next time someone brings it up, tell them you're happy with your choice and leave it at that. They will soon realise that their opinions aren't wanted.

I would honestly tell them your finances are none of their business. They are being rude even asking!!! Tell them outright or it will continue.
Im a sahm and dh earns less than yours are we manage ok.
Plenty of time for working when our kids are in school they are only little once. Imo no amount of money is worth sacrificing that. Nor can u ever get that time back xxx
