Anyone else have wonderfully creative ideas, like Ngaiz's, of how they will announce their pregnancy?

Ngaiz - i'm thinking of hiring a doppler for 2-3 months or until movements become obvious and regular. Waiting til after my first ob appt at 10+3 to be sure all is well and cos generally they are more effective after 10 weeks.

Just got a call from my Ob's office. Turns out I have a Prothrombin Gene Mutation. It means I'm 3 times more likely than the average person to develop a blood clot. It doesn't necessarily mean it will happen, just that I have to be more careful, take precautions during travel, surgery, etc.
It means I have to be on Clexane until 36 weeks though
The Verifi test results aren't in yet, but the nurse reassured me that she will call me as soon as they receive them - I don't have to wait until my next appointment, so that's good to know at least

Arlais, sorry to hear about the Clexane injections. At least its not forever. I'm on clexane too, sometimes they hurt and sometimes they don't and sometimes I get a bruise. How do you find them?
Great news on your NT results Rtkirk.
Your baby brain comment made me laugh Bedlover.
I am so tired today and have felt like I could fall asleep on my desk at anytime. So can't wait to got home today and am picking the fur babies up from the kennels. Can't wait to see them have missed them so much.

The injections aren't too bad now I've been having them for a while ABH. I don't know if DH is getting better at giving them, or if my body has just adapted but I'm finding I'm bruising less now than I used to.
I'm glad I finally have an answer as to why I tested high for antinuclear antibodies. It doesn't really pose any risk to bub, the clexane and aspirin is to protect me as you're more prone to developing clots during pregnancy anyway. It's a relief that it's a clotting disorder and not an immune system problem. Yes I'll have to take precautions for things like long distance travel, surgery, etc, but at least my body isn't attacking itself!
Glad you get to pick your fur babies up today - I miss mine terribly if I go away anywhere! Mine got a much needed bath and haircut yesterday so they are very happy puppies

Hi girls. I'm 7 weeks today and had my first scan this afternoon. Heart beat was 111bpm (i cried when i saw it) which is apparently good but measurements were only .59cm which is consistent with 6 weeks 2 days so I'm 5 days behind where I should be. Feeling pretty anxious and sad now even though she said they allow a 5 day margin but it just sounds very small for our dates. Anyone else had small measurements at the first scan?

Seeing a HB is a great sign hposs! Keep in mind that early scans are approximate, so 5 days really isn't the end of the world. I think it also has something to do with what stage the embryo was at when it was transferred.
Mine was 1 day behind at both the 7 week and 9 week scan, but just a few weeks later for the 12 weeks scan it was measuring 4 days ahead! So if mine can jump forward 5 days in measurement then your can certainly be 5 days behind with no issue

Rtkirk that's great news!! I'm looking forward to mine. Does it make you feel more confident?
Arlais that's gotta suck! Make sure your doctor calls medicare for authority scripts for larger quantities to save you money. Many drs will fib and say patients are using it twice a day even if it's only once to make it easier on the wallet.
Hposs and seahorse mine at 8w6d measured 3 days behind and my sonagrapher friend said it's completely normal and no cause for worry.
Jay I'm such a control freak. I want the surprise of not knowing the gender but the control freak in me wants to know, haha.
