    Not a restaurant as such, more a cocktail lounge that gets in food from
    The local Thai place, but DH and I went to The Junk Bar at Ashgrove tonight and it was just magnificent. You can barely see it from the street and when you do find it, it looks closed. But slide open the glass door and you step through a velvet curtain into a dark and funky oasis of sunken lounges, boutique beers, fantastic cocktails. Music is played from a record player and they have a massive selection. I honestly can't believe that such an awesome place is across the road from a woolies haha

    Saki at Eagle St pier is hands down my fav restaurant in bris.

    we drove up to Brisbane for my 40th and hubby surprised me with a greek restaurant at southbank.. i cant remember the name but it was divine... and then we had a walk along the waterfront.. was a magical night...

    How far west? Springlake tavern in Springfield is great.

    Can you have Mexican? The cactus republic in south bank is also great.

    Sushi7 (I think it's called) at indooroopilly is supposed to be amazing too

    Also, I don't know how 'fancy' you want out, but hogs breath cafe usually serve up great meals.

    In that case what about the Norman Hotel at Woolloongabba? I think it's owned by the same mob as the Breaky Creek. The steaks are beautiful, it's one of my favourite spots in Brissy.
